Way out West (incorporating Way up North)

it's meaty alright...

One of the undoubted benefits of living on top of a hill is that when the skies are clear we have marvellous view of the stars. The downside of this, of course, is that when the sky is clear then it is perishing cold.

We were enchanted, however, to witness the Geminid meteor showers a couple of nights ago, they weren't spectacular and violent, just gentle streaks of yellow and orange as the particles burned up in the atmosphere. In the village below the streetlamps were obscured by a low cloud, I can't imagine they'd have been able to see anything at all. It's supposed to bring you good fortune if you see a shooting star, hopefully we'll have a great deal of it, if quantity counts.
